626 Speak Out was started by four local high school sophomores who wanted to tackle social injustices in the community.

Growing up in the San Gabriel Valley region, we always noticed that the community had a common cultural practice of dismissing social issues. During the August of 2020, we felt the pressing need to put an end to the injustices that we have seen and experienced in the region. Within the short time span of a week, we worked hard and prayed hard to make our organization a reality. The goal was to have 200 followers and 30 members after seven days of our launch. After only three days, our platform reached over 400 followers with over 115 registered members. The overwhelming support we have gotten shows how much this community needed our initiative to take action. Since then, we have been part of this amazing journey of growth and have been working towards building a better future of justice and empowerment.
